Terms of Service

Last updated: March 7, 2026

1. Service Description

StopBots ("we", "our", "the Service") provides click fraud detection and protection services for Google Ads campaigns. Our service analyzes incoming clicks using multiple detection methods and automatically blocks fraudulent IP addresses through the Google Ads API. StopBots is operated as a sole proprietorship from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using StopBots, you ("you", "the User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using StopBots on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

StopBots is a business-to-business (B2B) service designed for advertisers and marketing professionals. It is not intended for personal, family, or household use. By using StopBots, you confirm that you are acting in a commercial or professional capacity.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use StopBots only for legitimate click fraud protection purposes. You must not:

  • Use the service to block legitimate traffic or competitors
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer our detection algorithms
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized parties
  • Use the service in violation of Google Ads policies
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Use the Service to conduct any unlawful activity

4. Google Ads Integration

By connecting your Google Ads account, you authorize StopBots to:

  • Read campaign data and click performance metrics via the Google Ads API
  • Add and remove IP addresses from your campaign exclusion lists
  • Display campaign performance data in your StopBots dashboard

You can revoke this access at any time through your StopBots Settings page or your Google Account permissions. Upon revocation, StopBots will immediately stop accessing your Google Ads data. Our use of Google Ads data is governed by the Google API Services User Data Policy.

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

StopBots offers multiple subscription tiers, including free Early Access and paid plans. Current pricing and feature details are available on our Pricing page.

  • Early AccessFree Early Access with full protection features while the product is in development. No credit card required.
  • MonitoringFree tier after Early Access ends. Bot detection continues but blocking is disabled.
  • Paid PlansFull protection with all detection engines and Google Ads auto-exclusion. Features and limits vary by plan.

Early Access users will be notified via email at least 30 days before the transition to paid plans. No charges will be applied without your explicit consent. You may cancel at any time during Early Access with no obligation.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time through the Billing page. Upon cancellation, protection remains active until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Monitoring tier.

6. Fair Use Policy

Pro and Business plans include unlimited click processing under a fair use policy. The fair use limit is 1,000,000 (one million) analyzed clicks per account per calendar month. This limit is designed to accommodate the vast majority of advertisers and is not a hard cap — if your traffic consistently exceeds this threshold, we will contact you to discuss an Enterprise plan that fits your needs.

Abuse of the service (e.g., generating artificial traffic to inflate metrics, using StopBots as a general-purpose traffic analysis proxy, or reselling the service) constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to StopBots — including the software, algorithms, detection engines, user interface, documentation, and trademarks — are and shall remain the exclusive property of StopBots and its operators. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features without prior written consent.

You retain all ownership of your data, including Google Ads campaign data and click data processed through the Service. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

StopBots strives to accurately detect click fraud but cannot guarantee 100% detection or prevention. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StopBots' total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount paid by you to StopBots in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 CAD. In no event shall StopBots be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StopBots and its operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content or data you provide through the Service.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

  • We will make reasonable efforts to remove IP exclusions added by StopBots from your Google Ads campaigns. You can also remove them manually through your Google Ads account
  • Your account data will be retained for 90 days to allow reactivation, then permanently deleted
  • Google Ads OAuth tokens will be deleted immediately
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) shall survive

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute through good faith negotiation for a period of 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, either party may bring the matter before the courts of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Proceedings may be conducted in English or French.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any legal proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by placing a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of StopBots after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the new Terms, you may terminate your account before they take effect.

15. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StopBots regarding the Service.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
  • Waiver: The failure of StopBots to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
